Privacy

Your Year in Code works with no sign-up, no cookies and no analytics.

What data it uses

Only data GitHub already shows publicly: username, avatar, contributions, public repositories and their languages, and the time of a sample of public commits.

How long it is kept

Each summary is kept as a temporary copy so GitHub is not queried on every visit, and is deleted after 30 days at most. Card pages ask search engines not to index them. To limit abuse we keep, for a couple of hours, a hash of the IP of whoever generates a new summary.

How to delete your card

Write to admin@aewhitedevs.com from the public email of your GitHub account, or in another way that proves it is yours. We delete your data and block your card from being generated again. For the block we keep only a hash of your username.

GitHub

Your avatar loads directly from GitHub, which receives your IP as with any external image. This project is independent and not affiliated with GitHub.
